Bush Spent Too Much Money?!?!
I figured if I started it that way, I could get all the people who thought that the "idiot" Bush or the "retard" Bush messed up this country! He spent so much money on two wars that we had no business getting into.
I would be remiss if I didn't start off by saying that I was one of those who believed the aforementioned "misinformation". I excoriated President Bush along with all of the other liberals and/or progressives who believed that he had no business keeping this country safe. That is not the point of my discussion today though. I must however, point out that President Obama has not changed course in President Bush's military policy. We remain in Iraq and in Afghanistan.
All I keep hearing lately is, "we need to give him a chance to fix what that idiot did" or "he's doing his best"... WHAT?!?! Is that it? Is that all you have to say about President Obama going on a spending spree, the likes of which we have not seen before in the history of this country or the world for that matter. The angering effect of statements such as those are two fold. First, no one had a problem with expressing dissent or worse, animosity, contempt, disdain, etc, for President Bush when he spent money to keep us safe, which is the primary responsibility of our "Commander in Chief"! Secondly, during the first couple of months of the current administration, I began to notice a trend. Every left-leaning individual and every liberal news organization were apt to decry all of President Bush's actions and defend those of President Obama's... in itself that is all well and good, but I noticed that it was being done without explanations or facts given to those of us being exposed to the diatribe or praise.
If I offer any kind of dissenting remark, it is met with "you're a racist", "you're just not ready for a black president", "you're being unfair", "Bush had eight years", "you're such a republican", and best of all "you're a communist!" But I digress... I am going to show you how a patriotic Libertarian, with respect for others' opinions and the liberty (for now) to back up his arguments with FACTS and not deflect by accusing someone of racism for disagreeing with how monies are being appropriated in our current economic implosion, refutes a statement like "Bush spent too much money" and proves one like "What the hell is Obama thinking with all of this spending?!?!"
Let me start off by saying that this is information I have gathered from the NON-PARTISAN Congressional Budget Office. You can review the actual and projected budget deficits for the next 10 years, here http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/105xx/doc10521/budgetprojections.pdf). Does anyone feel like I've accused you of racism yet? No? Ok then, let's begin. I should state quickly that the budget deficit is the amount by which we are over spending... that is, the negative difference between the revenue of the country (in the form of taxes and such) and how much we are spending. So, the projected budget deficit for 2009 (President Obama's first full year in office) is $1.7 trillion dollars. The deficit for 2008? $640 billion... less than half. Moreover, the 2008 budget deficit is exacerbated dramatically by the first stimulus package which was under Bush's watch. To put things into perspective for all you Bush haters, the amount we are OVER spending this year is more than twice the bank roll for the entire 7 year Iraq war!
If no one is feeling like I am calling them a mobster, a racist, or a Swastika yielding extremist yet, I'd like to continue instead with some actual facts (please take note Olbermann and Garafolo).
- Our current national debt is $11.7 trillion dollars
- Over the next ten years, we will be adding $9 trillion
- Every trillion dollars we add to the accumulated deficit or DEBT, means an extra $50 billion IN INTEREST PER YEAR
- I am throwing this one in hear as some more candy for you to digest. This is not a quantifiable result based on the numbers put forth by the CBO, but based off the money we owe and I will find it somewhere darn it!... and the amount of debt we owe China, we are already paying them $800 MILLION dollars per week. A few more trillion and we will be paying a billion dollars a week just IN INTEREST!
So if I may direct you to my friend Chino's post (http://www.juniorychino.com/2009/07/27/how-much-money-do-you-make/) to put things in perspective of the impact that this profligate spending will have on your life and that of your posterity.
I challenge President Obama's supporters to show us proof of how the administrations plans to spend our way to prosperity.
God Bless America-
Junior

All I can say ma Buddy is that I saw this coming…. (oh yeah, I knew that Obama-Care was going to be named the Ted Kennedy Healthcare reform act too)
Reason I say that is because, if you believe such things, that is the M.O. of the statist… to wreak such havoc on the current system that it just falls apart and along the way the people become more and more dependant on the government for all their needs up to and including food and clothing, the most basic of needs. (for proof, see Russia during 60′s and 70′s)
I myself don’t subscribe to such conspiracy theories, but the beauty of them is that they fit because it is a naturally occurring phenomenon! The Statist or Communist, whichever term you prefer, starts off well meaning and well intentioned. As he rises up the government ladder implementing all these public policies, they keep failing and he keeps demanding that we need to do more. (see second stimulus, omnibus and talk of third stimulus) With his call to action for more money and more legislation, he rises up the power ladder even more. (see the “Lion of the Senate” Ted Kennedy)
Now the statist that reaches these levels, like Senator, Governor, cabinet position, even Generals, are not without brains. They are highly intelligent, they begin to see how it works… for them to continue their rise they need a cause to fight. And their voracious appetite for power? It starts off as a need to help and to excel personally in their own lives. It grows, yes to continue to excel because don’t we all feel that we can do better, that we DESERVE better? And that if only they were in a higher position, they could do more to help others.
So when does the benevolence stop and the greed begin? The conspiracy “theory” has now become a self fulfilling prophecy. It has come true. The statist needs crisis’ to reach higher, to solve more crisis’.
Obama is a unique figure in this game of world domination… He has so little experience in it, and his rise was so meteoric that he still believes what he is doing is right! This makes him more dangerous. At least Ted Kennedy knew when to give up a cause.
What is it that they say…..? “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
August 31st, 2009 - 09:34
and speaking of good intentions, check out this quote from author C.S. Lewis… “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
A very apropos comment indeed. To call Obama evil at this point is conjecture, but the FACTS about what is happening to America as a result of his, his administration’s and Congress’ actions are irrefutable.
The indelible effects are being felt today through higher taxation (yes, already… in the form of higher energy costs because of cap and trade and this is not just the rich), and in talks for the future (by way of proposed taxing of health care expenses which are currently pre-tax, etc.).
I get all of the benevolent progessives out there wanting to “help” those less fortunate, but what those folks don’t understand is, that the easier we make it for those individuals now, the harder the path is later. There are no shortcuts in life. Think of it this way… back when you were a kid (or perhaps you are a kid now, in which case, that is awesome that you are reading this), you would be riding your bike and you come to a fork in the road (and you know this is the way back home). One road goes downhill and the other uphill. The inclination of most would be to go downhill… why? Because it’s easier… BUT, which path is gonna suck, having to come back on? Our leader have been promising us nothing but downhill for years, but what is happening is that the current crisis has exposed the fact that there is no more down. Our parents are yelling for us to come back home and now we have to pedal our asses off!! The problem is that daddy Obama is saying, that some of us are stronger than others and although we road downhill together, now we have to strap a bunch of those same people to our bikes and pedal harder and harder and harder. Now, I have no problem with pulling those who really need the help, but I don’t want to pedal for lazy people who say they can’t pedal hard because they haven’t been given equal opportunity. That is BS. They HAVE had equal opportunity, but they never chose to pedal and now their legs are crap! Or they chose to drink booze or smoke cigarettes or lay around on the couch watching Judge Judy!
The United States of America has always been about equal opportunity, not equal results. Equal opportunity breeds effort, innovation, dignity… equal results begets equal effort and that equal effort is “zero” which means that ultimately, the rich people you deride now, becomes your equal brethren and who will you take from then?

Th deficit is always growing…a lot of the money goes
to israel ( more than any other nation). Check the increase in the deficit after Roosevelt pulled the nation out of depression ( he invested in america instead of abroad). Of course Obama is spending more than Bush and of course Bush’s worst is not his spending. No I dont trust Obama either, but all of the spending is not going to the stimulus/obama care. He is still expandin the war. The war
has nothing to do with our security it is a staged excuse. Sorry to be so bland but there are too many misconceptions and assumptions in your writing. You neglect way too much data concerning the state of world affairs and the objectives of the actions you analyze.

As long as social classes exist equal opportunity is a catch phrase, thing more. If some people start on speed bikes and pass faster and better bikes on to their kids. (with oil slick booby traps for those trying to catch up,) and some people dont even habe a bike and are surrounded by thousands of others in the pits
of despair in the same situation then one can see there just arent enough bikes for everyone. Some may get lucky and due to some contingent string of affairs become able to get a bike and peddle their butts out of the slums, but the gross reality is that our system is not about everyone succeeding. In order forthere to be a peak to our social pyramid there must be a base that holds up the filthy rich owners, who do nothing more than delegate, who inherited, and have never struggled. You dont seem to really understand or even care about the lowest portion society. You fail to see the true scope of the conspiracy because some can “make it”. My friend, those who do did work hard, but they had more than those who didnt. Laziness is not the main culprit…though it is a learned attitude.

Pablo, you are REAAAAAAALLLLLY getting on my nerves. You are SO FULL OF SHIT! As I said the very first time you uttered a word here, you do NOTHING but bitch, moan and complain.
WHAT, pray tell, is your solution? What is it YOU think we should do? WHAT do you want done? You are now only responding to or engaging Junior and not me because I am challenging you to expose yourself. You are GLAD the twin towers got hit aren’t you? They were such a symbol of what YOU believe is wrong with this country and this world, n’est pas?
Be a man, have integrity, be honest and admit your true feelings. Am I wrong, if so, please let me know and maybe I will apologize. But in the absence of you being specific, this is what all your bitching leads people to believe.
My Patriotism doesn’t BLIND me as you once stated. I am patriotic because I feel we DO stand for good, or at least we try to.
You are just full of hatred. You are Timothy McVeigh. You are the American Taliban. You are the shoe bomber. You are those guys, without the BALLS to do anything about it or even admit it.

Ok then…. you are wrong…In all honesty, I swear to God and all that is good that I am none of those things. What you have just shown is paranoia, and is called slander. Clearly, I get on your nerves because you don’t understand. I have been as specific as I can under the limitations of time, and actual interest in teaching someone stubbornly refusing to accept and incorporate new and relevant data into their framework. I would never lift a hand to hurt someone unless they were attacking me, my family, friends, or fellow good citizens(Do we even know everyone needed to destroy a marvel of civilization like the twin towers?) Now, as for my solutions to the problems at hand in our nation and the world: It begins with education, brotherhood (compassion), unity, and peace. Right now, I am trying to do all of them…with you…and I do so with the people I meet..everywhere and at all times. Even you are important to me and even if you refuse every single new piece of the puzzle I offer there will be and are multitudes who will welcome them. Nothing lasts for ever…not even our civilization’s spiraling decadence and gluttony, not even our marvelous growth and development. It is more important to focus on helping people…that is the one and only thing I like about socialist thought. Otherwise, as stated, I admire MLK and Gandhi…but you just don’t want to “hear me.” When people begin to accept new information, new pieces to the puzzle instead of acting like they didn’t read what has been written…or just ignore certain literature…then they will begin to see the big picture, and will seek for themselves the change that politicians sing, and they will live it. Necessarily, everyone must work, everyone must agree on what is equitable & just, and majority rules. We can vote on every little issue, like Cuba, and of course it would be in small communities. If everyone produces something and time, rigor(physical/mental), and skill are taken into account, then we can agree on wages if we are unable to eliminate money once again. (aside: throughout ancient history the masses from all corners of civilization have fought against coinage because they innately understood the control it gave to those who establish the currency. Did you know our federal reserve is a private corp?). Whether or not, all people who contribute deserve certain privileges…I think we know what they are. What should we do…First, unify, but ignorance, fear, defiance, and hate are obstacles that can only be overcome by the individual. Here I am trying…sorry I left you to the side but Junior was just…well…smarter…and a more promising prospect.
