You Cannot Have That Surgery!

I would like to have a discussion around what you all feel about health care and the bill circulating in Congress... that will be coming up, but right now, we are asking for you to help in taking some action!

Senator Grassley of (of all places) Iowa, is a very big proponent of President Obama's Health Care Reform Bill (aka Obama Care). This bill will fundamentally change this country. It purports to want to cover 40 million Americans more, but there has been no mention of being able to do this without increasing (actually decreasing - we'll explain later) the number of doctors, hospitals and other infrastructure needed to support the vast influx of additional beneficiaries.

If someone can explain to me, how this would be paid for without skyrocketing the money coming out of Americans' pockets (which the President is already quoted as saying), that would be great, if not, please go out to Senator Grassley's contact page at http://grassley.senate.gov/contact.cfm and tell him to say no this mess!! You can also call his office at (202) 224-3744.

Here is the message I sent to him (in case you get writer's block):

Senator Grassley:

I know you are a very big proponent of President Obama's health care reform bill. I would like to respectfully request, however, that you take the time to consider the numbers put forth by the Congressional Budget Office as well as the alarming shift in those Americans who oppose this bill, as per daily polls would indicate.

I just have not seen or heard any specific information that would refute what the CBO has detailed in their findings. President Obama was very abstract in his press conference last week and I am concerned that this is simply not a sustainable option.

The President has also said that those of us who have private health care would be able to keep it, but how would those companies be able to compete against a federal public plan who has no bottom line obligations. The public plan would be THE ONLY OPTION by attrition.

I would agree that health care must undergo reform, but this cannot be the best way to go about it. Regulation, to control the ever-rising cost of medical care would be beneficial, but "administration" is definitely not the answer.

Please think about and consider the impact of this on America's families and do not advocate this bill.

I thank you for your time and attention to this most important matter.

-Junior

  1. Two points I would like to make Joony…
    FIRST OF ALL… <——-inside joke.
I told you not to worry. Obamacare in its present unsustainable form is D-E-D, dead! He is a lame duck flopping down out of the sky after gettin winged by the shotgun of the Cambridge police dept. Doctors are none too happy with him either. So this bill will never reach his desk for him to sign and ratify. It’ll take months, anywhere from Sept-Dec before it even gets consideration, if at all.
    Secondly……,
DUDE, we lost, at least my side did, therefore we all lost. (the other side just doesnt know it)
To the victor goes the spoils. Let the idiots have their wacky bills. They’ll turn soon as they see what a sham it is. If we stand in the way and actually prevent it, they will always have the excuse that we never gave it a chance and perpetuate the ”republicans are evil and dont care about anybody” crap. At least this way, we can say ”see, i told you so.”
I know the I told you so stuff never helps, but I just have faith in the American people. They know how to spot a con. We can be fooled initially,,but you better produce satisfactory results or we put our foot down!
It’s duck season you wascally wabbit. Somebody call Dick Cheney!!!!

  2. Looks good on paper… health care for everyone and all, problem is, no one is reading the fine print! All of us who has been able to pay for health care, for the most part most have NO idea what is coming with this so called health care plan. God help us if it get passed, I have on going health care issue that may not be covered or I will have to wait to get the doctor care that I need and require. Again I say, they say what they want us to hear during election time, paint a pretty picture than screw us anyway.
